SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE

Jos Sanders
Jos Sanders is a professor in lifelong learning at HAN University of Applied Sciences and senior research scientist at TNO, Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research.
The focus area in the research I am doing concerns Lifelong Learning in the skills based labour
market, with a focus on people with no or only a few diplomas.
With my colleagues at both HAN UAS, TNO and House of Skills I study lifelong development on three
levels. On the micro (indivdual) level we study self-directedness in sustaining employability and
design and implementation of skills passports in education and the labor market. On the meso
(organisational) level we study design and development of effective and strong(er) working and
learning environments with a focus on (transformational and coaching) leadership and skills based
HRM. On the macro (system) level we study the transition toward a more skills based labour market,
with a focus on lifelong development support in primary, secondary and tertiary education as well as
VET, informal learning and skills recognition.
