SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE

Soledad Romero Rodríguez
Is a Professor in the Educational Research Department at the University of Seville (Spain), PhD in Career Guidance and Master in Systemic Pedagogy.

My research work focuses on the analysis of the factors that influence career construction in children
and young people at risk as well as in university students. They are also focused on the evaluation of
career building interventions, using active methodologies and experiences using qualitative career
diagnostic tools and arts-based methods. We work with constructivist, systemic, critical approaches
committed to equity and social justice.

We see career guidance and career building as a lifelong process. From this perspective, we see it as a
learning process. We develop action-research that aims to develop these learning processes (career
management skills, critical thinking and social commitment) on the part of the target group. We also work
from a collaborative approach in which we involve the different social agents who have responsibility in
the processes of career construction in order to promote approaches of equity and social justice.
